In the context of a child, safety refers to behavior and practices that protect a child from harm, injuries, and danger. A child’s well-being is directly influenced by the nature and quality of their living and learning environment.
Children growing up in a safe environment are more likely to thrive from learning opportunities, develop a positive self-image, experience fewer illnesses and have enough energy to play.
Lessons on safety should be taught directly and incidentally. This includes taking them through a fire drill step-by-step, read stories about safety issues, or create art projects to reinforce basic safety principles
